First things first, if you have recurrent or sudden pain in your feet, you should start by getting your feet assessed by your podiatrist. Pain is the most obvious signal that your shoes are ill-fitting. Get the right advice from your podiatrist for your foot type or your condition.
If you are experiencing ingrown toenails or know someone who is, it is time you visit North East Podiatry.
Ingrown toenails (onychocriptosis) are a common condition that impacts people of all ages. An ingrown nail is caused by a piece of nail puncturing the skin or nail bed. The toe can become painfully inflamed and/or infected if bacteria enters the broken skin.
What is Diabetes?
Diabetes is a condition in which the amount of glucose (sugar) in the blood is too high because the body is unable to use it properly. This is because the body’s method of converting glucose into energy is not working as it should.
Medial Tibial Stress Syndrome (Shin Splints) is the most common form of exercise-induced leg pain. It represents a bone stress reaction of the tibia, the major weight bearing bone of the leg. It often results from a rapid increase in level of weight bearing exercise. The pain from MTSS is usually expressed as a dull ache following exercise that may last hours to days, and may even persist during normal activities of daily living. In the early stages of MTSS, pain resolves with rest. However, without rest, pain may transcend previous levels into severe, sharp and persistent symptoms. People affected by MTSS often undertake periods of rest only for pain to recur with resumption of exercise.
Verrucae Pedis is a papilloma or wart located on the foot caused by a strain of human papilloma virus. Whereas most warts on other areas of the body grow out from the skin, plantar foot warts are forced into the skin from weight-bearing pressure.
