Stress Fractures

stress fracturesStress fractures are tiny breaks in the bones of the feet that can lead to complete breaks if left untreated. They can be caused by over training, hard surfaces, poor shoes, flat feet or other foot deformities.

Pain and swelling are the usual signs of a stress fracture. The fracture can occur anywhere in the foot and x-rays and other studies are used to diagnose the stress fracture.
